I have been using web 2.0 tools for the past 3 years now.
I would like to acknowledge Katina, a remarkable teacher who inpsired myself and others to take this digital journey for the success of our students. Katina, thank you.
I have started wikis, blogs, podcasts, prezis with the different classes that I partner with in the library and some of these projects have been completed, however, many of them are still ongoing. That is to say, even years after the partnering is over, students are still wanting to continue to wiki long after the partnering has finished. This makes me think of many things...how technology continues to ignite learning, long after the tool has been used and practiced for students. For teachers, my practice with using web 2.0 tools with them has allowed me to see just how easy learning and teaching with technology can be. All it takes is an interest to learn, to embrace something new and then patience to practice it yourself. As a teacher, I am constantly surprised at what my students come up with on their own- what they inturn teach me about the many different facets of the tool that I thought I introduced to them.
So...this blog is a collection of my years of exploring this new digital way of thinking, learning, teaching and creating. I will be adding the different projects that I have created with the different kindergarten - grade 5 classes I have been working with as well as my new discoveries as I am constantly wanting to learn something new.
This blog is a continuous reflection of my journey...the journey I have been on with technology, the journey I am currently on and the journey that I hope to explore.
Enjoy!
